Outraged affiliates hit the gambling boards over the conflict of interest, and to the Casino Affiliate Managers who pay an enormous fee to display the Casino Affiliate Programs "Certification Seal", thus Cardspike was rogued.
Three days later, Sunday, January 04, 2009, a second report is put out by Gambling911 stating some of those affiliates also claimed that CardSpike.com is run by some of the same people behind the Poker Affiliate Program (PAP), another venture of Casino Affiliate Programs (CAP).
While the online gambling boards became heated with affiliates demanding transparency from CAP/EM (Effective Media) and Cardspike, online casino affiliates and players were checking for facts to these allegations. What was found is that the owner of "CAP" (Lou Fabiano), is also listed as an Officer/Director of "EFFECTIVE MEDIA GROUP, INC", a corporation based in Florida, who operates the affiliate program for the Cardspike online Poker Room.
